Beef Fried Rice

Ingredients:

  • 250g beef, thinly sliced
  • 3 cups cooked jasmine rice, cooled
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn), thawed if frozen
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Heat a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and swirl to coat the pan.
  2. Add the thinly sliced beef and stir-fry until it’s no longer pink. Remove the beef from the wok and set aside.
  3. In the same wok, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Push the garlic to one side of the wok and pour the beaten eggs into the other side. Scramble the eggs until they are almost fully cooked.
  5. Add the mixed vegetables to the wok and stir-fry for a few minutes until they are heated through.
  6. Add the cooked rice to the wok and break up any clumps with a spatula. Stir-fry the rice with the vegetables and eggs for a few minutes.
  7. Add the cooked beef back to the wok. Drizzle soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil over the rice. Sprinkle white pepper and a pinch of salt. Stir-fry to combine all the ingredients.
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. You can add more soy sauce or salt according to your preference.
  9. Once everything is well combined and heated through, remove the wok from the heat.
  10. Transfer the beef fried rice to serving plates. Garnish with chopped green onions for a fresh flavor and vibrant color.
